Biography

Biography

From a young age, I have been deeply connected to nature and the healing power of plants. Growing up surrounded by farmland and family gardens, I developed a profound appreciation for the cycles of growth, the nourishment provided by homegrown food, and the natural remedies found in the plant world. This passion has led me to pursue a credential in naturopathy, deepening my understanding of herbal medicine and holistic wellness.

My interest in herbology stems from a desire to bridge traditional plant-based healing with modern applications. I find immense value in cultivating medicinal herbs such as chamomile, lavender, valerian, echinacea, and elderberry—plants that have been used for centuries to support physical and mental well-being. Experimenting with herbal teas, tinctures, and salves has allowed me to witness firsthand the gentle yet powerful benefits of nature’s medicine.

Alongside my herbal studies, I am passionate about gardening and food security. I believe that access to fresh, locally grown food is fundamental to health and sustainability. My experience in gardening ranges from growing fruits and vegetables to integrating companion planting and sustainable soil management practices. I am particularly interested in the role of urban and community gardens in strengthening food sovereignty and ensuring that nutritious, culturally appropriate food is accessible to all.

As I continue my journey in naturopathy, I aspire to integrate my knowledge of herbology, gardening, and food security into meaningful work that supports individuals and communities in leading healthier, more sustainable lives. Through education, hands-on cultivation, and advocacy, I hope to inspire others to reconnect with the land, appreciate the healing properties of plants, and take an active role in their own well-being.
