I am the mother of 7 children. I adopted four teens during my fostering years. I am ready to put that stage of life behind me now but I still feel my calling is to work with children and young adults. Over the years I have used the unique relationship of art and emotion to process feelings and I have taught many children the joy of letting their feelings out in a positive way. I have taught independent living classes to teens in the foster system, I have incorporated art projects on other jobs with kids of all ages as well. My children are all grown now but they continue to use the techniques I showed them and have adopted art as a way to express what they cannot say. I want to continue to do this! I am hoping with an art therapist certification I will be free to apply for jobs that put me in a position to help others.
