Responding to visible stimuli, scents & sounds of landscape, sub-tropical environments, coastlines, weather events, social issues, ‘gems found around me’ and art media ‘accidents’ is what motivates my creativity. Sometimes the scene dictates the process and other times the mixed media, directs, commands & asserts its way over the creation itself. My work is captured in the phrase ‘Abstract Clarity’. Being an artist truly permeates my soul. Its richness enhances my life, especially the teaching, equipping aspect, as I have led others in the pursuit of their creativity and seen them blossom. It ignites a flame in me, to see the joy creativity releases in people. Art therapy-based work has also been the cornerstone of many endeavors I have pursued throughout my art and social services career, and I am seeking to formalize my skills with this course.
