Biography |
I have always had a passion for helping children in crisis. I started my career early, while in College, working at Residential Treatment center for Sexually abused children and those with severe behavior challenges. I was made supervisor upon graduation, but we only remained open another year. I continued work with Residential Treatment through Seattle Children’s Home in Seattle when I moved here for Graduate School. After graduation, I started work with a community mental health agency but quickly learned that I needed to make decisions I felt were right for my clients despite limitations of managed care, so I left and began my own Private Practice offering Individual, group and family Therapy to Children, Youth and families. This was very rewarding work as I was witness to healing from sever abuse and trauma, grief, and exceptional loss as well as a slew of other issues throughout my 25 years of practice. I have always hungered for learning and sought out the most I could, so I have many minor certifications and a various collection of certificates covering my wide range of interests-many in various healing arts modalities including Vibrational Sound Therapy Certification, Trauma Therapy Certification (U of W), Sand Play, Play Therapy, Experiential Therapy, energy healing, Life Couach Certification, etc.
