Biography |
Born in 1963. the eldest of 4 children. My mum was very ill and my dad was rarely home as he had to go away for work and only returned home for short periods. As I was the eldest, I had the responsibility of being the career of my family. This followed through to my adulthood where most of my working life has revolved around serving my community. In my younger days I worked in the fashion and beauty industry which I found exciting and challenging at the same time. It was extremely rewarding financially and spiritually. As well as working, I have always donated much of my spare time volunteering for various charities. I now work as a support worker and love my job but I wanted to do this course as I feel it will add value to my clients as well as to me in many ways. I already use art as a way to relax and get to know my clients but I am interested in furthering my studies in ‘Art Therapy’ and use my knowledge to understand my clients better as well as to destress and learn more about myself. I am also interested in learning about the effects of different colors. I am very interested in the psychological side of art therapy and want to learn as much as I can and incorporate it into my work as well as daily life.
