I have been writing, designing, and illustrating professionally in South Florida for over 35 years. After leaving the US Army, in 1988, I enrolled and graduated from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. I then started my career designing and illustrating at The Discovery Center in Fort Lauderdale – the children’s museum that morphed into the Museum of Discovery and Science. Next, I joined the Sun-Sentinel, pioneering both print and digital projects. After that I moved to Univision, where I was part of the team that launched Univision.com, serving as Creative Director, and later Vice President, Design & Usability, of digital products.  Since leaving Univision I have consulted on several UXUI projects, wrote and illustrated my first children’s book, The Lonely Little Island, and continue to illustrate on personal and professional projects.  I also partnered with my wife at It’s All About Reading, a reading center she founded,  where we work with children who are having difficulty learning to read within the traditional system.
