Hello, I am 55 years old and I have been working with children most of my life. From Preschool to High School, I’ve worked with all ages.  I was a paraprofessional in a preschool and worked in Kindergarten as a special education teacher. As a reading specialist I have worked in grades k-9 through school and private tutoring. I have done professional theater and community work as a choreographer and Director so I have experience working with teenagers, as well as adults.

The 8 years I have had to watch my daughter struggle with mental illness. She was molested as a young child and it impacted her life in so many different ways. She battles anorexia, anxiety, suicidal ideation (attempts have been made) and was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder.Trying to support her and seeing her in so many different residential facilities was very difficult on my husband and I.  As I look around there are so many others like her who are struggling and not getting the support they need.

I believe that using art as therapy would be so helpful to so many. The process could do wonders for some people.  It won’t work for everything, but for some it might just save their lives.
