Biography

Biography

My name is Marzena Isik

I live in the United Kingdom. For several years now, I have been professionally involved in photography, with a focus on photographing children. I am particularly interested in fine art photography, which involves creating images that resemble paintings. The photos I take are stylized to look like paintings, sometimes reminiscent of seventeenth-century Dutch art.

I prefer simple stylizations that capture the natural essence of the subjects I photograph. I graduated from the art department at the University of Zielona Góra, where I defended my master’s thesis in art therapy and graphic design. I also developed my artistic sensibilities as a student at a music school, where I learned to play the drums, xylophone, and guitar. I paint and draw, which is why my photographic work involves not only technical knowledge but also a keen sense of beauty.

I carefully select the context, background, and styling for each portrait to match the emotions and character of each individual. I have completed courses with photography masters such as Michał Treutler, Paulina Duczman, and Dmitri Baev. My portraits are distinctive and recognizable, and I create them using graphic software. I spend several hours in post-production, perfecting every detail in each photograph.

I love working with children, and I know how to make them feel comfortable in front of the camera. Every person is unique, regardless of their age, and I strive to capture that essence. My photos have won awards in prestigious photography competitions, including the sixth edition of the International Photo Awards, where I was recognized as one of the top artists capturing emotions on children’s faces. In subsequent editions, I was named one of the top 100 photographers in the world, and my photo was featured in the annual catalog.

I secured the second place in the Portraits Photo Awards competition in the United Kingdom, and I received an honorary mention in the INTERNATIONAL PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS™ in New York. I publish my work in magazines for both children (Prestige Models Magazine, International Kids Magazine, Tinies Magazine, Brand Model Magazine) and adults (Femme Rebelle Magazine). I have also been featured on the Studio Londyn radio program on Wnet.fm, and an interview with me and a showcase of my work are in preparation for the British-Polish quarterly artistic magazine Post Scriptum.

Privately, I am a mother of five (including two cats) and a happily married woman.
