Biography

Jenny Ventura graduated from Northeastern University with a Criminal Law Degree.  She was given the opportunity to work on the domestic violence & sexual assault unit at the Cambridge Police Department.  There is when she discovered her love to work with at-risk communities affected by violence. 

 

She created a clinical leadership program within the Cambridge Ridge & Latin High School in providing confidential counseling.  In 2004 she decided to enrich her education in being able to continue her path of mental health independence she graduated in 2004 with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology. After serving as an intern with Somerville Hospital Adolescent Unit, Harvard University Sexual Assault Hotline and Cambridge City Women Union she landed a job at Norwood’s Riverside Crisis Stabilization & Respite Unit as the Director or Crisis Services.  She was responsible to provide clinical supervision, oversee the crisis hotline, provide outpatient services and evaluate psychiatric patients in hospitals, jails & the general public.   

She soon became a per-diem social worker at Steward Caritas Good Samaritan Hospital ER,  McLean Hospitals Inpatient and outpatient programs, Norcap Drug & Alcohol Treatment Center and Brockton Hospitals ER, Inpatient and Outpatient Programs,  There she completed all Clinical Psychiatric Assessments, Evaluations, level of care placements and maintained a secured environment for those supervising at-risk and abusive patients. 

 

In 2016 she initiated a business plan and opened Mind & Body Behavioral Health Center, LLC.  Her therapy trade is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) Modalities.  She finds this to be one of the most effective tools as it helps patients guide through life in a positive, compassionate and meaningful way.  She utilizes problem solving skill sets, accountability, self-esteem building techniques and medication management.  She has many years of experience working with first responders, veterans, adolescents with a multicultural competent in meeting diverse populations. She continues to maintain high standards in credentialing guidelines with major insurance panels including Tufts, BCBS, Military One Source (active military), Tricare (veterans), Employee Assistant Programs for major corporations and state/local government agencies. She is a forward thinker and advocates for those who are ready to do the work one step at a time.
