Biography
Biography | Leyla T. Rosario is the Managing Partner at The Gig Media, a proud LGBTQIA+ and women minority-owned production company. The Gig Media champions DEI, actively promoting talents through mentorships and educational resources, while producing both scripted and unscripted original content. Leyla holds a BFA in Film & Television from New York University. Her recent accolades include the Imagen Award for Best Variety or Reality Show for “De La Calle” (2024) and multiple awards for the AT&T “Helmet” campaign, including D&AD, Cannes Lions, The One Show, and CLIO Awards (2024). She has also been recognized by the E/S Collab I Screenwriting Important Stories Initiative (2020), The One Show Pencil Award (2019), and shortlisted in both The Webby Awards and Cannes Short Film Festival. Raised in The Bronx, New York City, by Puerto Rican parents, Leyla’s profound understanding of community and heritage shapes her professional ethos, infusing her projects with a sense of purpose and inclusivity. This commitment is reflected in her work, creating environments that celebrate diversity and foster engagement. She discovered her love and natural talent for sketching and painting in 2017, during the loss of family and friends in Leyla’s life. She turned to painting in honor of a friend who died that was an incredible artist/painter. As a tribute to her friends life, Leyla began her grieving and healing journey with acrylic paints, some canvases, and a heavy heart ready to pour her feelings onto the canvas. Years later, Leyla’s realized how her journey brought such a healing impact into her life and those around her. Since then, Leyla continues to paint and sketch…be is small or big, the imagination awaits and the stroke of a brush creates. As she continues to push creative boundaries, Leyla is excited about the opportunity to contribute her extensive work experience and innovative perspective to the arts, art therapy, creative and healing projects. |
