Tamara “Ms. TeeKay” Kumoji, a Baltimore native and creative force in the DMV, brings an inspiring blend of artistry and passion to every stage. With over 25 years of experience, she has carved out a unique space in the art world, excelling as a performing poet, storyteller, international keynote speaker, songwriter, fashion designer, and creative director. Her recent keynote at the GSU International Speaker Experience in Athens, Greece, highlights her global reach and impact, sharing messages of resilience, love, and empowerment. Ms. TeeKay brings an energetic, healing presence to her performances, using her voice and art to inspire, empower, and uplift. As a self-published author, her works include “Vibrations of Love” and a co-authored anthology, “Perseverance: Why Giving Up is Not an Option.” A mother of three daughters, she finds balance in motherhood while building an impactful career in the arts and business. A founding member of FYBR, LLC, Ms. TeeKay leverages her expertise in entertainment and management to amplify local talent and cultivate creative communities. FYBR recently launched the 1st annual FYBR Festival celebrating the love of art, music, and spoken word. Known for her poetic lyricism and electrifying performances, Ms. TeeKay has shared her talent on stages across Maryland and the DMV, including Zee with the Fur (Camp Springs, MD), CJ’s Place (Baltimore, MD), and Whiskey Nights Open Mic (Clinton, MD). Her artistry extends to guest appearances on podcasts such as “Embracing the Culture of Unspoken Word” and “Shine Vibrations” on Blast Music 247’s YouTube channel. She was nominated as “Supporter of the Year” at the 2023 Baltimore Crown Awards and competed in the Women of the World Poetry Slam (WOWPS) in 2024.
