Biography

Biography

Karla Wirth is a self taught artist, currently based in Berlin, Germany. Drawing inspiration from her upbringing in Mexico City and her rebirth, in the capital of lust and kink, Wirth  exceeds in the use of bold colours and humour to reflect on issues of sexual identity, philandry and its toxicity, and the beauty and pain of intimacy.

As a sexology her work invites you to celebrate and acknowledge the power of your uniqueness and celebrate diversity as value and human right.

Wirth’s  preferred techniques are acrylic and watercolour, while feminism and sex positivity are the back bone of her work.

Wirth’s artistic exploration delves deep into the essence of cacti, drawing parallels between its qualities of tenderness, self-preservation, and resilience with the human form. Cacti serve as a profound symbol for her, mirroring her identity and essence. As a Mexican artist, cacti hold a sacred place in her cultural tapestry, manifesting in Mexican cuisine, attire, libations, and even our national emblem. This symbiotic relationship between cacti and self reflects the intricate beauty and resilience inherent in both nature and human experience.
