I am a retired dollmaker, married 43 years, mom of 2 adult children, and grammy to 5 grandkids.

Art has been my passion most of my life in various forms. Employment as a stitcher in the garment, handbag, and shoe industries equipped me with valuable skills for design and production of collectible dolls.

Primarily self taught by trial and error, utilizing my factory training, I launched my Sew Be It dollmaking business in 1991 as a sole proprietor. My business proved to be a success financially as well as providing me a creative outlet where work and play joined forces to bring me many years of success and failure through my experiences.

After 30+ years of self employment, retirement beckoned me to come visit. Having had a few years now to look back in review, I have become aware of the therapeutic advantages of this creative journey. Much has been revealed to me through my own art works about who I am, my needs, wants, and true desires, or  lack thereof.

Having benefited greatly from participation in a couple of online art therapy sessions, I’ve come to an even deeper understanding of myself in this world. For me, art is an important part of my journey, giving and receiving- physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

It is my hope to be able to impart some of my learned wisdom to help others grow to understand and become their unique selves. Be-you-to-full!
