Biography |
As far back as my memory recalls I have always been creative. But for years I struggled with calling myself an artist, because I did not make my living creating pieces to be shown and sold. But, now in retrospect, I can see that I was and am an artist. I’ve worked as a photographer, visual merchandiser, and photo-sylist, and have created numerous works in order to express myself. I used art activities during my time as a teacher of young children. Then used art in my 12 years of teaching school aged children with exceptional needs. I have wanted to be an art therapy practitioner as soon as I’d heard of its existance as a recognized profession. I’m very anxious to learn as much as I can about the techniques and activities that can help others navigate through their struggles. I have no doubt that I will also learn alot about myself in the process.
