This Artiste’s Statement

Instinctive, Ecstatic, Reflective is how I would describe my approach to my world of art. Describing my processes is like looking at the sparkling, fast paced babbling creek.  There is so much going on in that creek, so much life and living it is hard to see underneath the water. Sometimes it is hard to tame it into a written process. I enjoy the experiment of creating art.

I like the cause of the experiment.  The Challenge.  The experience, how it feels to made the design. I also like the creative release of awesomeness when I get it right.

I make my art with gusto… When I mix the paper, glues, love, ideas, cloth, ephemera, some more paper, it’s all about the paper, inks, paints, threads, nature with a little bit more glue and I shape it into my thought or the idea.  I like it. I enjoyed the process. So, with this in mind, I start on my 5 chapter of my journey in 2024.

WHO I AM

 My name is Kellie Ann. I am a retired (2017) super secretary, Everyday Extraordinary Wife, Mom, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Friend and Artist…I have been creating art forever, but have really started to concentrate on my passion these last 2 years….

 I am an outdoor enthusiast, that has taught many to backpack, kayak and create beautiful paper art while out in nature.

 I am a Jane of all trades who dabbles in everything: Nature photography, digital photo manipulations, water color, acrylic painting, Gelli printing, zentangling, Color pencils or pastel painting/sketching, scrapbooking, crocheting, sewing, Love reading and learning, cross stitching, rock painting, jewelry making, literally plant paint gardens with heirloom flowers, certified rain gardener, papermaking, Nature Journaling, Pyrography and my most favorite pastime is Paper Crafts, which branches out into many areas. Write Haiku & poems, I specialize in, Journals, Altered Books, and Specialized Occasion Cards.

 I have self-taught myself in all of the above…then have turn and pay it forward to teach and educate other liked minded people who enjoy both the outdoors and art.

 I have demonstrated how to create a small journal for the Medina County Art League and held classes for friends and family. All of my classes have had 8 to 20 people.

 I am self-teaching myself how to You Tube and Create my Web Page….. Which I really kind of like… But very time consuming…and I believe is an art form all of its own. Creative Digital Art Journaling….

 I am not a renowned artist or published artist but I am your everyday, extra-ordinary artist, “lets create something person” who enjoys nature and crafting together. However, I may become famous…one day.
