colorful greetings to you!
i graduated from university of wisconsin-whitewater in 1989 with a bachelors in art-emphasis in graphic design and a minor in art history. upon graduation, i worked in the chicago area for a company called mac temps as a graphic designer. i worked there for two years and moved back to my hometown area of madison, wisconsin and worked as a graphic designer at port to print in madison. i later branched out on my own and started akuba studios (named after an african art piece). i pursued freelancing with one employee from 1993-2019. it was in 2019 that i started creating mandalas. i have a son that struggles with mental health and i found that painting dot mandalas gave me some peace and balance. i want to explore how i may help others create art for inner peace. i have been asked to teach classes on creating mandalas and i would like to incorporate art therapy in the future.
