As long as I can remember, I’ve always had a passion to help people. I have spent most of my life working beside young children since the early age of my high school years. Art was one of my many hobbies and classes I studied and gave complete focus to because it was enjoyable. Through it, it gave me the space and outlet to be free, expressive and release creativity daily. Now well into my adult hood, I have found that so many children and adolescents lack the mental concept and basic skills to be uniquely free in the creative world.

As a mother of two small children, one with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) I have found art has helped my child thrive in so many areas where he faced small challenges. This journey in parenting a child on the spectrum has led me into the field of behavioral health. I have the pleasure working alongside students with various differences and disabilities by introducing them to different ways to express themselves through art weekly. As I continue to educate myself in the study behind art for treatment and how incorporating it with therapy is helpful, I hope that my knowledge will bring support to the lives of many who need understanding and a safe space to just BE.
