I have worked at the Riverside Art Museum since 2011. First as a preschool teacher, taught children with autism, an Art-to-Go instructor, she coordinated First Sundays, Arts Walk and birthday parties. I took the position of Director of Art Education in 2014, where she oversees all youth and adult education programming including our Creative Horizons program for at-risk youth and detainees at juvenile hall. I have coordinated the RUSD Middle School Art Show, Moreno Valley Art Shows as well as the California Art Education Association Southern Cal Art Show. Today she continues in that role, as well as Director of Community Engagement where she oversees the Artist in Residence programming as well as community events. Caryn manages a team of 19 employees.
My teaching philosophy is to give all people the opportunity to experience art, and to appreciate their artistic skills, regardless of age and ability. I teach in Juvenile Hall where i teach student to freely express themselves through the arts.
I was recently appointed to the Board of Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council and also serves on the Kiwanis Board of Riverside since 2017.
