Biography |
My name is Cheryl Horgan and I am an artist and an artisan in Eastern Canada. I have been making jewellery out of recycled metals for more than 30 years now. I also work in Stone carving, chain mail, Bead work, I paint and draw and I’m working on learning about watercolour painting.
I’ve been in recovery for 32 years from drug addiction, and my art has been a very therapeutic part of my recovery. When I meet somebody coming in from their addiction, I strongly suggest they find something creative. It can be writing, it can be art, could be crafts, could be clay… Could be anything. As long as it brings them out of what they are sitting in and into a world that they enjoy. I’ve seen at work, and I wanna make it possible for more people to learn about themselves and their feelings through art. Once a person learns how to express themselves, anything is possible.
