On January 6, 2025 I suffered a major heart attack and had been dead for a couple of minutes before my son along with the chief of police found me in the foyer. The ambulance was waiting on the other side of the door. I was first taken to our hometown hospital where I was transported to the St Thomas Heart Hospital in Nashville TN, however I took a turn for the worse and they stopped at another hospital and a pump was inserted in my heart to hopefully keep me alive until Nashville. I finally made it where the surgeon hoped I could regain some strength before surgery. The surgery was scheduled for Jan.8, but the night of the 7th I bottomed out. There was no choice but to do the surgery in the middle of the night. My surgeon told my family that he and I would go into surgery but there was a good chance I wouldn’t live through it. As soon as I was awoken I was asked about my pain from 1-10. I said -8. I’ve had absolutely no pain and haven’t taken a Tylenol. I’m considered a walking miracle!
Now it’s my turn to help others so maybe they’ll never experience what I have.
