Biography
Biography | Mina Ho Ferrante, also known as Hồ Mộng Nhã Uyển, is an artist whose work reflects her vibrant cultural heritage and her journey across continents. Born and raised in Vietnam, Mina held her first solo exhibition of silk paintings at the Fine Art Association of Ho Chi Minh City at age 21. Recognized as “Vietnam’s youngest solo exhibition artist” by the city’s daily news, she gained early acclaim for her talent. In 2017, she returned to Vietnam for another solo exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City, where 25 out of 30 paintings were sold. Mina generously donated some proceeds to support orphans and others in need. Mina earned her BFA in the United States from The Academy of Art University in San Francisco. During her third year, she was selected as one of 35 students from 13 top art colleges across the U.S. and Canada to participate in Walt Disney’s Animation Training Boot Camp. Following the program, Mina was among three students awarded a scholarship and a post-graduation offer to join Disney Feature Animation Studios. At Walt Disney Animation, Mina was a background designer on several notable animated films, including Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Home on the Range, Tarzan 2, and Lilo & Stitch 2. Mina is an active member of the Burbank Art Association, Pasadena Society of Artists, and Women Painters West. She regularly participates in statewide exhibitions across California and has earned numerous awards for her expressive and dynamic paintings. She has also received multiple accolades from juried art shows. Mina’s paintings are currently collected worldwide. In 2016, Mina published her first bilingual fiction book, Prince of the Sea, which she wrote and illustrated. Recently, she completed her MFA in Art History through Fort Hays State University’s Graduate Online School. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Mina teaches drawing and painting to adults and children, sharing her passion for art with new generations. |
