Biography |
In July 2002 I went to my GP for an annual check-up – I was 41 years old, 5’6″ tall, weighed 140 lbs and had a BMI of 25. I was a mother to my two teenage daughters, worked full time as a project manager and customer service agent for a fuel tank testing company. I did not exercise, I didn’t have time and I was stressed out, just like so many other women my age. It was at this appointment that my doctor told me, based on my family history, if I didn’t lose weight and lower my BMI, I would be a type 2 diabetic and live a miserable life. She recommended that I go on medication and start a healthy lifestyle through proper diet and exercise. She sent me to the clinics nutrition class to learn how to manage diabetes. Mind you, I was not a diabetic, and I refused her offer of medication but did attend the classes, they didn’t help me manage anything. I knew I could get my life together… it took me 20+ years but I finally I have.
I joined Scholistico to further my knowledge regarding a natural approach to health and wellness. I have been studying, researching, writing and sharing information on natural solutions to health issues for several years. It’s time to pull it altogether so I’m grateful to have found this program to help me do so.
