Hello, my name is Khadijah Salaam. I love all things nature , beauty , health, wellness, Arts, culture and self expression overall. Focused on the Arts , non traditional methods of healing. I gained my passion for holistic health as a child growing up in New York City; my parents would take my sister and I to Health Food stores in Manhattan often and it would feel like an adventure. I was drawn to the variety of natural health books, the scent of essential oils and plants like Aloes and Jades. I didn’t yet know what I wanted to be when I grew up, but I knew how I wanted to feel. After High school I knew that I wanted to have a profession in natural wellness but I did not know what direction to go in order to pursue my goal, at that time we were very limited to access to learning programs in the holistic wellness arena. I went to many colleges , changed my major many times until I eventually completed my BA degree at SUNY Empire State College in Artistic Expression. I loved my experience in learning, but I always felt like something was missing. I am grateful to have found Scholistico, where I have the opportunity to get the education on holistic health and wellness that I had always been drawn to. I have completed the Art Therapy Practitioner course and am currently working on the Holistic Nutrition Consultant course.
