| Biography |
I am a Galway artist here in the West of Ireland, having studied Art at GMIT (ATU), Stúideo na Coiribe, with Lodestar school of Art, with renowned Artists Kenneth Webb and Susan Webb, and privately. I have exhibited in Solo and Group shows. I experiment in landscape, still life, portraiture and photography, following the narrative of nature. Also finding inspiration in music, I took time during the last few years, to create instrumental music with colleagues, producing two CDs…’Wings of a swallow’ and ‘From Lough Key to Iona’, in collaboration with Musiversal. I like to link up Artistic themes with music…I am interested in building empathy by highlighting the beauty and depth of diverse perspectives, enhancing the viewing experience… for example visual and musical metaphors… In my paintings…’Aughanagh’, ‘Wings of a swallow reverie’, ‘From Lough Key to Iona’ and ‘PlúirÃn sneachta’, I have drawn upon visual elements like colour, texture and composition, to complement my music, and to evoke specific emotions and sentiments. I love art born from a place of authenticity. It can be tempting to concentrate on what will sell, but that can lead to Art that feels empty. People are attracted to genuine expression, because it connects with them, and I would like to help people in the community to find their own true expression through Art, hopefully by studying this course. I am also interested in synesthesia. My art and music can be explored further at:
