One life lesson I learned early in my career is that success in business isn’t a guaranteed it’s a success in health. A life-alterning education learned at 25 when, as an ambitious CEO, wife, community volunteer, and mother, I was diagnosed terminal with liver cancer. 🩺

Left devastated by the diagnosis, many prayers for wisdom 🙏 changed the trajectory of my life when I refused to give up. I 💰 self-fund holistic treatments who to this day, are denied by insurance. Opting for the “medically impossible” journey, my eyes became opened to the ‘healthcare matrix’  – a system of corruption exploiting disease for profit.

Months after the diagnosis, a miraculous second chance happened. That was three decades ago. Cancer changed my life in ways I never saw back then. What started in 2013 when a career offer in insurance came, opened the door to my discovering how to create the policy I spent decades in search of. Holistic medicine health insurance for people who didn’t want conventional treatments was met with no insurance company willing to underwrite the policy.

So in 2014, I launched ‘GreenSurance’ as a beta project. A cost-share whose message was the ‘healthy insurance alternative’. GreenSurance was a success, yet it was here I realized more is needed than access to holistic care when health issues happen. That’s when I made the tough decision to close the doors to GreenSurance and begin problem solving once more.

In 2018, I founded AlternaCare, a 501c3 nonprofit whose humanitarian mission is crowdfund the changes needed in health. 🎯 “Health Reinvented” is the mission. Starting with building infrastructure for a membership community who opt to learn and live a ‘prevention-first’ lifestyle, “Living Prevention, Not Prescription” is how health is being reinvented.
