Biography
Biography | Catosha Riley grew up as the oldest of two siblings as she is the oldest child. She grew up on the east side part of town as she is a true native of Columbus, Georgia. She graduated from Kendrick High School in 1992, graduated mastering in Cosmetology from Columbus Technical College in 1996 and earned her Entrepreneurial Leadership for Women certificate from Cornell University in 2021. Growing up, Catosha was always more mature than the other children as her parents had invested a lot in her to excel in everything you do. While she didn’t realize this back then, she hadn’t learned self-awareness until years later. When Catosha graduate from high school she was a teen mom feeling the pressure of making the best decisions providing for her family and making her parents proud. Catosha has built a reputable name for herself as she has been the owner of Overflo Salon and Barbershop for over twenty years providing exceptional service. Catohsa has since cemented new olive branches within the community as she took her creative nature to birth the following organizations Overflo Outreach Ministries Inc, The Marriage Company LLC and Ark Plus LLC. Catosha over the past years decided to take her talents to another level birthing a Workforce Development initiative and using her talents to become a Motivational Speaker. In 2006 Catosha proudly became the wife of Gerald Riley to whom she has now been married to for over sixteen years with eleven children and fourteen amazing grandchildren. Since then they both have become community outreach humanitarians giving more than 500 turkeys to those in need, providing haircuts for the homeless, established a grooming program at Carver high school in honor Coach David Pollard who was a monumental community advocate, Partners in Education programs at Rothchild Leadership Academy (Middle School), Wesley Heights Leadership Academy, and Georgetown Elementary were they focus a tremendous amount of energy on life skill, grooming, mentor program and a specialty program called Big Girls Dream. Catosha’s nonprofit organization has a Sweeper’s Entrepreneur Program for at risk youth that provides them a firsthand experience in leadership that helps sharpen their knowledge, skills and abilities. In collaboration with Team Overflo amongst other local leaders Catosha has been influential leading and coordinating the following annual events. ANNUAL BOURGEOIS AND BOW-TIES, raising funds to provide scholarships and awards to local candidates. ANNUAL GIRL HURT BRUNCH, bringing women together learning physical awareness, empowerment and giving supported in local communities. MISSION UGANDA, foreign mission that provides life skill training and resources for East, Africa. BACK TO SCHOOL CUTS, giving 500 back packs and school supplies, 105 haircuts and lunch in collaborations with Foxie 105 and The Edge Church. FISHERMAN OF MAN, team building for families to fish and have fun providing a fish fry with their own catch and giving away certificates and prizes. CAMP OVERFLO, takes local youth to Fort Benning Georgia to camp out learning land navigation, team-building skills, survival skills, craftsmanship and how to start a campfire as well as telling great camp stories with morning breakfast and Sunday School. CUFFLINKS AND PEARLS, provides a space of leveling up for our youth to demonstrate skills in customer service and leadership where they get an opportunity to dress business casual professional in uniform, meeting local city officials and business owners. TRUNK OR TREAT, is Team Overflo’s alternative to trick or treat we provide a safe environment in Overflo Salon and Barbershop parking lot for families to receive candy, food and information from local organizations. In the last five years Team Overflo has serviced over 2,500 peoples. AGRICULTURE CAMP, taking youth and families to various farmland to pick blackberries, strawberries, peaches etc. and learn the education of agriculture also educating the community on the importance of saving our bees. SUITS FOR YOUTH, in collaboration with a local church giving away suits, ties, shirts, belt and shoes to youth and young adults that have never had a suit before. HEART FOR THE HOMELESS, we provide supplies such as feminine products, shampoo, toothpaste, socks, blankets, and wipes etc. for the homeless on Valentine’s Day! GROOMING FOR CHRISTMAS, in collaboration with Reach 4 Your Dreams giving away 100 haircuts to local youth. THE MARRIAGE COMPANY LLC. YOUTUBE AND PODCAST, inspiring others to have Effective Communication Through Spiritual Growth. BOOKS IN THE BARBERSHOP with technology is to inspire the youth to increase a need to read while in the salon and barbershop. COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY in collaboration with our local church The Edge providing resources to those in need. Catosha has received numerous awards over the years as a business owner, women in business, humanitarian, community leader and mentor.
