I graduated from Bishop Conaty HS in Los Angeles in 1964. I spent 3 years in and out of UCLA and finally in 1969 I put everything I owned in my new Volkswagan bug and drove across the country. I spent 10 years in South Florida, a great deal of the time as crew on various sailboats taking small groups around the Bahama Islands.
In _____ I moved back to LA where I worked as office help in various organizations. During this time, after my parents had both died, I decided to apply and was accepted into Nursing School. I graduated with honors and passed the RN state exam. During this time I became interested in the need for emotional and spiritual help to patients under my care. I worked with young people detoxing from illlicit drugs and with geriatric patients with end of life decisions.
Since my retirement I have worked with the 12 step community especially to help people get and stay sober, and with some geriatric patients to assist with final passing.
