Biography
Biography | As a former youth substance abuse counselor, outreach worker (using and developing workshops as well as community awareness to foster substance abuse prevention), and substitute teacher, I have utilized many methods and modalities in helping others along their healing journey. Studying along the lines of natural healing, and becoming certified in many avenues of recuperation, self-development, and growth such as “Personal Trainer certifications” with numerous sub-specialties, including “Behavior Change Specialist”, “trauma studies” previewing numerous psycho-social difficulties, and “Nutritional Coaching”, to just name a few. I have been eclectic in my educational choices and methods of learning. In my own personal healing journey from many injuries, illnesses, and traumas, I have personally enhanced my own growth and development by utilizing art, music, writing, movement, nutrition, meditation, prayer, and play, along with standardized treatments through physicians, chiropractors, therapists, physical and occupational therapists, nutritionists and natural healing centers; never buying into the prognosis’ of “you will never be able to…” or “this if for life”, accepting only some of the diagnosis’ but not prognosis’, I have been keeping hope alive for achieving goals and better outcomes; as in my taking a class in spinal rehabilitation and stroke rehabilitation where we learned that not all is “healable”, some is only “manageable”. I am excited and grateful to be able to study with Scholistico (along with other studies elsewhere), incorporating new information and reviewing previous learned conscious understandings on my way to integrating knowledge, and experience into becoming and integrating ME again, along with once again opening up to working with others, supporting them in their healing journey. I am grateful for my struggles, as I gained much insight by overcoming!! Blessings Be!! |
