My Movement Autobiography
Growing up, movement was mostly centered around dance. Specifically Ballet. Therefore, movement was focused on discipline, expression and function. Studying classical ballet, taught me body awareness and mind/body connection. My love for dance was always over shadowed by comparison and perfectionism. Having been in the fitness field for over 40 years now, has taught me to focus on overall health and to balance how I look with how I feel. I still struggle with self judgment and performance. Therefore, right now my primary target is going to be focused more on regulation. Learning how to keep connected to my body through breath and by focusing on how I feel vs. how I look.
